Prague

  Prague is known as the city of the thousand spires because of its bountifulness of grand, beautifully-preserved historical monuments dating from every period in history. Those spires are best admired from the bridges that cross the Vltava River, especially from the magnificent Charles Bridge, or standing in the stunningly beautiful Old Town Square. Only a few other cities in the world delight your senses as much as Prague.

   Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic and fourteenth-largest city in the European Union. Situated in the north-west of the country on the Vltava river, the city is home to about 1.3 million people. Prague is home to a number of well known cultural attractions, many of which survived the violence and destruction of twentieth century. Main attractions include the Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, the Jewish Quarter, the Lennon Wall and Petrin Hill. Prague Castle is the world's largest castle complex. The Charles Bridge is the most beautiful monumental pedestrian bridge, and the Old Town Square is one of the most beautiful urban spaces in the world. Since 1992, the extensive historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

   The city boasts more than ten major museums, along with many theatres, galleries, cinemas, and other historical exhibits. A modern public transportation system connects the city. Also, it is home to a wide range of public and private schools, including Charles University. Prague is one of the most visited city in Europe.
