Aishwarya Rai

  Aishwarya Rai also known as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after marriage, is an Indian film actress. She was born on November 1st 1973, in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. Her father, Krishnaraj, was a marine biologist while her mother, Brindya, is a housewife. She started modeling when she was in ninth grade. Her family moved to Mumbai for her High School Education. In 1991, Rai took part in the Ford Super Model Contest and appeared in Vogue Magazine.

   Aishwarya Rai became popular after she appeared in a Pepsi commercial with Actor Aamir Khan. In the 1994 Miss India contest, she won the second place, behind Sushmita Sen, and was crowned Miss India World. She also won the Miss World title the same year, Where she also won the Miss Photogenic Award. Rai continued to pursue her career as a model until she became an actress. Rai made her acting debut in Mani Ratnam's biopic film Iruvar in 1997. Later, Rai became famous in Bollywood in the year 1999 with her lead role in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

   Her big hits in Bollywood are Devdas, Guru, Jodhaa Akbar and Sarkar Raj. Rai has more than a Billion fans across Asia, Europe and USA. Aishwarya Rai married Abishek Bachchan, also a Bollywood actor in 2007. She has a daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.
